Well I haven't been here for a while but after having several issues with the Rough Country lift (supposedly certified by Chrysler) I decided to post. Hope this is the correct place. I purchased the kit from their site and had the kit professionally installed by Noble Motorsports . They actually recommended the kit. Well the front suspension would have a loud bank when going over speed bumps and such. So I took it back to Noble. They checked and found no issue. Then I messaged RC and they said that they had never heard of any issues with the kit. They were of no help! So I left it at that . The banging did get a tad better but it was still there. Now two years later and maybe 15000+- (retired!) the right front axle failed. Luckily my daughter works at a Honda dealership so I got a discount. They checked both axles and replaced the right side. They mentioned that the lift has put the axles in a bad enough angle that it had caused the axle to fail and to be aware that the left might fail soon too for the same reason. The Patriot is a 2016 High Altitude , 2.4ltr , 6 spd auto, 4X4 , 71000 miles and stock besides the lift. I do not off road it besides dirt and gravel roads. Mainly bought it for snow and back country mountain roads in the SIERRA'S . I made the mistake of not keeping the oem suspension parts . Anyone else have this issue? If so, what was your remedy?

I had the same issue with the Rough Country 2 inch lift kit. Whenever i'd hit a small bump it would be very harsh and it would make a violent sounding bang in the front end! When i was getting a quote for the RC 2 inch lift kit from the shop i used, it also included an extra quote to upgrade the front struts. I asked why they included that strut replacement quote too and was told it would improve the ride quality. I turned down the strut quote because RC advertised that their 2 inch lift didn't require any additional modifications. I thought the shop was just trying to up-sale me. Well i was wrong. I had them upgrade the front struts and that fixed everything! They installed the RC struts that are designed to go with their 2 inch lift kit. Totally worth it! About a month later i had them replace the rear struts too also from Rough Country. My 2016 Patriot Sport 2.4 L , manual transmission rides fantastic. I'd recommend anyone that is looking to lift their Patriot replace at least the front struts too. Todd

It's the sway bar relocation brackets, the hole diameter is larger than the OEM bolt holes and it moves around under articulation, causing it to clunk. Mine also kept coming loose. I ended up replacing them with adjustable quick disconnects.

They mentioned that the lift has put the axles in a bad enough angle that it had caused the axle to fail and to be aware that the left might fail soon too for the same reason.
Unfortunately a problem with any IFS or IRS lift kit, trucks like the new Bronco or Tacomas etc have the same issue without dropping the subframe. The best solution would be extended travel CV axles but nobody makes them specifically for the Patriot. Somebody would have to go to someone like RCV and have a set made, but RCV is pricey so I haven't reached out to them myself yet.
