I have seen roof racks, but none that would allow for HID's....There are custom rack made by members themselves, but are there any companies that sell them?

To incorperate HID's you'd have to have somewhere to store all the ballasts. So 4 lights, 4x ballasts. You would need a watertight compartment incorperated into the basket.

To my knowledge, nobody does and HID baskets. You'd have to be creative with your own.

... a roof rack and lights would be REALLY NOISY at highway speeds and MPG will suffer.

My roof rack sounds like a gas turbine engine...

I ran it one summer and retired it to the garage. Just too noisy.

I ran the wiring down the black molding strip on the roof all the way to the engine compartment then i wired them to a wireless transmitter. I didnt want to drill into the dash of my newish car so the transmitter was an easy fix. It was $15 on ebay, I push a button on a remote and the lights come on. I push it again, they go off.

I didnt want to drill holes because I was sure that eventually they would leak. weather it was next day or 3 years from now. I didnt like the idea of drilling into my roof OR my dash. Thats why I did the wireless transmitter and ran the wires under the trim on the roof and alondside the windshield.
