Okay, who is buying one first?

http://www.rocky-road.com/patriot.html

I'd like to see the lift with a set of stock tires/wheels so you can really get an idea of what it will look like...

Nice price too!

How does this lift NOT effect your CVs? Can someone explain that in technical terms?

If you're all to chicken how about everyone through in $20 each and send a box of bits across to me in Australia,

I'll have a go!

If you are ever bored, how 'bout take a pic of your lifted pat with the stock tires/wheels!?!? It's hard to tell how much it is lifted (over stock) with the new tires on there...also, what size tires are on yours now?

I believe les schwab can install lifts. Also, Big O Tires. I am sure any of those shops can do it with the instructions. Seem like they are simple instructions to follow, but I wouldn't know since Rocky Road did mine.

I'd love to jack the Patriot off the ground (especially by 2"+), seeing as the mud flaps can't even clear curbs at the moment. :(

Just curious how easy this would be to install on my own, though. Seems like a fair price, it comes out to a total of ~$330 with shipping to Canada.

So, do you have anything "bad" to say about this lift??

- No vibs coming from the CVs? (at low and high speeds?)
- Does is still track and ride smooth?
- Any weird noises post-lift?
- Does the strut assemble look funny with the lift on? i.e. can you see the strut spacer if you were to glance into the wheel well? Are they painted black?
- No bad castor or camber angles post-lift?
- Do the CVs look like they are binding or maxed out?
- I wonder what the estimated CV life will be with the lift on?

*BREAK*
- The "2.25" inch lift seems like an exact number...i wonder how they determined that? Was 2.5 inches too much? Why not offer a 1 inch lift too?
- Man, I would really like to see some 225/75-16 BFG MTs on a lifted Pat!!!

this is right from the website site "We get asked alot about vehicle warranty. While each dealership has their own interpretation (some will sell a Jeep lifted and heavily modified right off the showroom floor, others freak out at the idea of even changing out your floor matts), the rule of thumb is that only the parts modified are affected by warranty. By leaving your factory suspension intact and only adding to the outside of your struts/springs/shocks, you haven't altered the parts to affect their performance. You get a fantastic looking Jeep AND get to keep your factory service warranty."
So according to them it shouldn't void anything.

I am still awaiting an email back from them. I need to know if this lift is ok with the trail rated version of the Patriot. has anyone figured out what jeep did to create the extra 1inch on this model? Because if this lift works it'll be pretty sweet to have 3inchs of lift over a stock 4x2

If there is one thing I've noticed after reviewing Rocky Road's website, they don't push the limits on things. I don't know who the best company is out there for lifts and modifications, but I bet these guys have learned their lessons.

They basically will tell you that anymore lift on a particular vehicle will start to cause problems, hence, they make the lift for the Patriot 2.25" vs. 2.5" or 3".

I'm just tickled that a guy would test and determine these things, and follow through with it even though it isn't the popular decision.

Also, I believe Glenn mentioned that he created the lift in such away that it wouldn't interfere with the various angles, the amount of extension, ect.

Word of caution, downer opinions and hearsay follows,

I would worry about buying such a product from them because they do not seem very involved here.

They release a new product that could have catastrophic consequences if something is not right, yet they have not shown up to answer any questions at all. They know they have a whole web site of people here ready to pounce on their product and ask questions.

**Warning Internet Hearsay follows**
Between this forum and another Patriot forum I have read 3 different people proclaim that Rocky Road is not the best company to deal with for various reasons. (And I am putting their words mildly)
Of course MAC III seems to have had a relatively positive experience with them, so maybe that is all that should matter here.

I don't think there is anything "downer" about being cautious. I've read those reviews as well.

We aren't talking about a big name company like Amazon... Really, how many times do you buy a lift in your life? So in reality, how many of these lifts will they ever sell? A couple thousand? Maybe over the course of 5 years.

The point being, its hard to judge small companies that make specialty products because there aren't enough people giving feedback. Two or three clowns who complain about anything could really hurt a company's reputation when only 1000 people buy the lift, and 10% talk about them. On the flipside, we might not be hearing about all the problems, because some people just get rid of the product and don't say a thing about it.

Being skeptical and cautious is fine in my opinion.

Very true.

That's why I look for these smaller companies to step up to the plate with more accessible customer support and superior community communication than large corporations have.

As it stands, unless RR is answering emails people are sending them, we have been left here to talk amongst ourselves and pick apart communications from various places and the past to answer current questions being asked.

:smiley_thumbs_up: From what I have personally seen, their products are good quality, fairly well thought out, occasionally innovative. I have never seen problems in the use of their products, either design or construction.
:BLAM: From my experiance, they shoot themselves in the foot with the customer service. I would order from them again (Patriot is not here yet), but I wouldn't expect it to arrive fast....
