Easy - just 2 Torx head screws to remove on front of seat, then it just lifts up. Below is a video from an old post about repairing the fuel pump, which is located under rear seat. In the embedded video they show how to remove seat.

Yeah, it's pretty simple. I put seat covers on last week. If I can do it, anyone can!

 

I am thinking about removing the rear seat and building a platform to try and increase storage space so that I can live in my car while traveling. Any input or thoughts? haven't done something like this before and want to know more of what I might be getting myself into before I just start ripping **** out.

 

How did this work out for you? I’m researching this process for the same reason. Would love to know if you did the buildout and if so, how it went.

 

You would need to remove the top/back part of the rear seats, then the bottom part slides right out and there's a gas tank under there.

 

Squeeze two bars together then remove it. Turn it sideways then there you go.

 

This is exactly what I want to do.
