Hello all.. I have the Firestone affinity tires (215/60/17), withabout 23000 miles on them and am going to get a new set of tries in the next month before winter.. I could probably get another 10,000 miles on the firestones but they are pretty crappy in the snow..

My question is, if i switch to the 215/65/17 size tires, will it cut into my mpg much? They are 1" taller. I currently get about 25.5 mpg on long highway trips and around 22mpg in extended city driving. The tires i am looking at are Toyo Versado CUV and Hankook Optimo 727s.

Can anyone with the FDI 4x4 system and no lift please let me know what kind of MPG you get? I already talked to my dealer and they said they will set my electronic system so it reflects the 28" tires if i get them.. Thanks to anyone who can help.

I have 215/65/17 tires and get 30 mpg on the highway with the 5 speed manual tranny. With the speedometer adjusted for the 28" diameter tires I don't believe your gas mileage will change much. I think the Toyo tires are pretty good, but don't know much about the others.

low rolling resistance tyres and air pressure are to do with fuel economy, thats why the tyre companies are investing in low rolling resistance tyres, since i changed my tyres from the contis to low rolling resistance tyres i get a little better fuel economy. i average about 46mpg. 2.0 diesel limited. nokian wrg2 215 60 17
