Hello & welcome Ziggy !! The UK spec 2.0 litre CRD ( VW engine does not have a DPF ) Thank goodness!! I believe the 2.2 MB engine version does have a filter , as by then I believe the UK had to come in line with the European Union .

As the Patriot was deleted in UK 18 months ago , I,ve noticed the prices are at last coming down ...could be some bargains about . Checkout " Carmony " & " Pistonheads "

 

my 2.0 CRD has a DPF.
no probs so far (109k km).

 

Thank you both for the welcome. What are the problem spots for rust? Does the suspension just wear due to age / mileage or are there actually faults to be aware of?

I didn't realise it was a vw engine. I will have to do some research on exactly which one it is.

Yes where are the rust hotspots ? May pay to get mine waxoyled underneath then .
As for suspension ,I was a little suprised to see that mine had a new wishbone at 14,500 miles.

No DPF on my 07 luckily. Don't know about later models.

 

Euro CRD 2 litre has DPF.....UK version CRD 2litre does not have DPF. The UK was a bit late on taking up this EU directive !!
