Ouch - I have full coverage on both vehicles with a $500 deductible and its $412 every 6 months via Geico.

What other vehicles are on the plan? Lots of insurance companies will insure you on all other vehicles on the policy so that may be why your so high. My gf has the same problems. Insured on her Lancer w 1 ticket, and parents G37S & Rouge AWD. You may want to look at other insurance companies on your own.

My insurance went down $5 a month from my Cavalier. and to keep both only added $15 a month. I was very shocked with the rate on the Patriot!

Did a quote based on some basic info for him and came up with $110 a month with a plan thats probably more than what he has now.

Like my little brother, no idea why he was on my parents plan for so long .... their rates were high and so were his .... than he went solo and they both saved hundreds a year.

$86 per month for two vehicles.
Roughly $38 of that is for the Patriot.
Full coverage, glass, the works. $500 deduct (except on glass)

But my son just turned 16! Ugh. Initial estimate was $160/mo extra just for him. :(
We're working to reduce that.

up here in the land of the free health care I pay $120 per month or $1,400 per year

Mine is inflated as I live in one zone and do the majority of my driving in two other, more expensive zones...so I pay the highest of the fees there.
Plus its a work vehicle and I'm required to carry additional coverage on that.

I suspect an unencumbered Patriot used in my zone by a private person would be around $700 per year, maybe a bit more. $60 per month.

Here, everyone starts rated at zero, then you "earn" your way through 10, 20, 30, 40 percent discounts. At 40% you are Roadstar! So most of us are Roadstars but kids starting out pay full freight. First at fault accident is no penalty but further accidents and traffic infractions, etc. will begin to move you down the scale. A really crappy driver can have a 40% premium surcharge...that would be expensive driving.

It's all about your location, age, and vehicle popularity. Since the Patriot isn't a real popular vehicle, and never sold a lot of units, I suspect that the typical Patriot owner is AT LEAST in their mid 20's, and living in a rural/suburban area. That helps to keep the average Patriot rate cheap. Plus, no one is trying to steal it.

Move to NYC with your Patriot. I bet your rate doubles.

wish my insurance was as cheep as some peoples. Full coverage 2012 patriot sport 4x4 through USAA 180.00/ month. This is taking into account a) being in germany b) under 25 male c) an accident on record. Hopefully it will be cheaper once I get back stateside won't know till I get there though lol.

Here's my coverage:
Collision - $500 ded
FTC - $250 ded
Full safety glass endorsement - no ded for any glass repair
Plus towing package - towing up to 100 miles, emergency fuel delivery, winching, up to $100 in lockout services, etc
Coll/FTC lease gap coverage
OEM parts endorsement
Rental - 30/900
BI/UMBI - 100/300
Medpay - 5,000
Property damage - 100,000

I pay $64/month for the Patriot. I also get the multi-policy discount as I have my renters' insurance with the same company, accident-free discount, advance quote discount, financial stability, Passive Occupant Restraint Discount, New Vehicle Discount, and also an associate discount since I work at the company.

My premium went down by a boatload last summer after I turn 25. If I'm ever willing to get married, then it will go down another boatload.

me (29) and my fiancee (24) are both insured on the patriot at 112 a month. pay and extra 2 dollars a month and you get full roadside assistance with free towing and everything which has come in handy. We were stranded in the desert and im a cheap skate and I couldnt remember if I paid it or not. I did though so in my mind it must have been a good deal at the time and it would take about 10 years to pay that 2 dollars a month for the one tow we had. So its well worth it. Get a progressive quote.
