2015 non-cvt. Hey guys, just wanted to share my experience with the patriot so far and hopefully be helpful to anyone else with a similar issue. I bought my pat used a couple months ago. I noticed that the trans seemed to be jerking and having trouble shifting frequently. Took it to the dealer only to lose my car for the week. They found nothing smh. I read a few threads on here and decided to change the spark plugs. Good as new, no jerking or engine hesitation at all whatsoever. Accelerates great now!

Thanks for your update.
Yeah, my 05' Dodge Neon did the same thing a few years ago.
Every time a plug caused a misfire, the car jerked sometimes with a mild backfire.
The mild backfire was the clue that one or more cylinders were misfiring.
Changed plugs and all was well again.

Could of been other things like an ignition coil, etc. but the plugs are the easiest and cheapest thing to try first.

Just got a 2017 Pat (used) so I read the whole owners manual. I’m just one of those kinds of guys. Read in the maintenance section that plugs need to be replaced at30,000 miles which is really low. If it’s engineered for them to wear out with low a mileage, it may be no wonder it wa lurching. I’m curious as to how many miles showed on the clock.
