Patriot Driving Lights - Compatible with DRL's?

I've been thinking about getting a set of the Mopar Bumper Mounted Driving Lights for my Jeep Patriot Limited. In looking at various places online that list them for sale.

I found the following disclaimers:

1) Light kit not for use with day-time running lights.

2) Not for use on vehicles with optional daytime running lights.

My question is will the Jeep Mopar accessory driving lights not work, since I have the optional daytime running lights on the Patriot? Why not? Is it a wiring issue? Could I wire them up separately from the Jeep computer to get them to work? Any thoughts? Has anyone run into this before?

I can check with my dealer as well. I was planning on having them installed and they quoted me $300usd installed out the door. So it has to be fully compatible.

Ollie18 - Thanks! :smiley_thumbs_up: Yes, please post if you find anything else out. $300USD sounds like a pretty good price, including installation.

It just seems weird that they would advertise them as such, but not make them compatible.

It's probably just a computer thing.
To have proper functionality(with DRLs) I bet it takes a program with the scan tool. And in the advertising they cover their butts by just stating it won't work instead of something like 'dealer computer programming required'.

Will do Hog - I will give them a call tomorrow, as I am swamped at work. I'm planning to have them installed within the next 2 weeks. Yup, and the price incl. install according to the Sales/Parts guy conversation when we picked up the car.

I have no other info other then that I confirmed that the bumper mounted driving lights are $300 installed/out the door at my dealer. I do not know when this will be done yet...no stinking time.
