eBay has every possible option in adapters anyone would ever need. Know the specs you want and order away.
It's hard to make a bad adapter with today's machine technology. Trust that as long as they are aluminum (or even stainless if u want to spend the dough)they are a lifetime part! I added the spacers too just to kick the wheels out more than flush with the fenders.
Looks better IMO

And.....I like the look. Looks real nice! I'm looking for the stock aluminums myself. But I want them gloss black.
If I can find them cheap enough I'll powder coat them myself.

Looks awesome. Did a good job. How long did the rims take? did ya take them off?

The whole job - rims and calipers - took 5 hours...2pm - 7pm Saturday / 85 degrees.

Crack a beer/light up cig, jack up Jeep, set jackstands, remove rims, wash rims, dry rims, remove centercaps, mask tires, spray 1st coat Plasti-dip. Crack a beer/light up cig while 1st light coat was drying, and masked all 4 calipers. Sprayed 2nd coat on rims.

While 2nd coat Plasti-dip was drying, start 1st coat Duplicolor Chrysler Red Engine Enamel on calipers. Crack a beer/light up cig, allow to air-dry for 30 min, then used hair dryer for 5 minutes on each caliper to speed it up. Sprayed 2nd coat Duplicolor Chrysler Red Engine Enamel on calipers. Crack a beer/light up cig, allow to air-dry for 30 min, then used hair dryer for 5 minutes on each caliper to speed up 2nd coat. Then lastly, single coat Duplicolor Clear Engine Enamel. Crack beer/light up cig, allow to air-dry for 30 min, then used hair dryer for 5 minutes on each caliper to speed up final coat.

Then I removed masking off everything, popped centercaps back in rims, re-mount, tighten lugs, remove jackstands, and lower the Jeep off the jack. Cracked a beer/lit up cig, and sat back and enjoyed my accomplishment, lol.

I would love to see some pics of how far the wheels stick out from the fenders. Did you take any shots from the back? (No ****...:D)

Only 2 coats on rims and calipers?
4 Calipers = 2 coats red / 1 coat clear

4 Rims = 2 coats Plasti-dip = 2 cans...want to buy another can.

Does that serve any purpose or is it just for looks?

Its in preparation for 245/65 Hankook ATM's and my RRO lift, as well.

Lift sitting in the garage, waiting for install...getting Hankooks by November.

Joey
Can you give me the name of the spacers you bought or if anyone else has a suggestion for a good set for my 09 with stock rims and tires.
I'm looking to spend around $100 if possible. 1.5"

I'm interested a little too....

A bit of tutorial and a link or at least specs on the spacers would be nice.
Is it plug and play? like bolt on spacers, bolt on wheel or ???

The vehicle does look nicer with them out that bit, for sure.

Might be a stupid question, but do you use the same size on the front and back? Just watched a video of a grand Cherokee and the front wheels looked like they stuck out further than the back.

No. You don't use different sizes. U can if you wanted.
I.E.- thicker in rear to make it look even to your eyes.
Or thinner in front. Same thing.
The pics u see are a visual perception thing.
The vehicle is actually a slight wedge shape. Wider body in the rear than the front. If you were to stand on your roof looking down you could see what I mean.

nice, has the altitude look. Cant wait so see it w/the RRO lift and new tires.

question: how durable is plastidip? does it come off if u don't like it ?
how would it do against roadsalt in the winter? would a high pressure car wash effect it?

#31 ·
It will come off with high pressure which is why so many like it. Spray it. Enjoy. If you don't like it simply pressure wash it off or peel it off and do it again. It peels like a price of rubber tape. If you want an it extremely durable than prepare ur surface to be painted with a rough texture. Like corse grit sand blast or sanding. It sticks very well to a rough texture. For a smooth surface like a paint job, it sticks and peels off easily later.
But with normal use it's very durable for things like salt and such. The thicker the better.
Here's an example. If you can zoom to see it.
I peeled it off my hub caps just to see how easy it was.
Really cool!

The only issues I'd be concerned with is torque. High torque engines can snap them off. I'd like to use them on my street rod but no way! Not worth the risk.
The Patriots don't even come close to even the possibility of that happening!

The offset is a nice lightweight wheel alternative. Reminded me of my old 215 SRAs, damn skinny, sold them on CL for $200 with 12k on them.
Downside will be your ball joints and linkage.
You put a 245 on that setup you will be lookin' good, but pay a price.
You are getting freeback at high speed right? You will need strut-tower brace to calm that.
Black is beautiful!

#36 ·
Freeback? Huh? Feed back maybe?
Who was that aimed at?

Here's the deal with the offset.
The factory wheels have a huge negative offset. My steelies have a 1.5" and my aluminums are 1.75"
As long as you don't go positive beyond wheel center you don't add stress to alignment angles.
I added 1.25" spacers which brought them back to 1/4" off center.
