Ordered mine today. Going to check the local 4x4 shop and see if they will install it for me since I will be working a lot the next few weeks and want to get the kit on soon so I can spend more money.....on tires!

Attached are before/after photos of my FDI. The after photo is a bit exaggerated as the gap above the tires in the wheel well settled a little after driving away.

My kit had the upgraded stabilizer extensions (1/4" flatbar with welded gusset - very strong) but the kit had mismatched bolts/nuts to afix them so will have to put in GR 8.8 tomorrow after the alignment (used lesser bolts in shop to get by).

Other additions besides the option group are an AEM intake, a ''Euro" style antenna (works but not required - Sirius) and some neat LED lights to replace the stock map/dome filaments - they're a 9-bulb array and white in color (brighter and cooler than the original). Hella 500 Free Form going on next but fabricating a bull bar to mount them out of 2 or 2.5 inch pipe first.

Keeping stock 215/65R/17 tires (and have snows mounted on steel rims).

You will find this lift here (specific vendor web page):

http://www.rocky-road.com/patriotsus.html

Currently selling for $329.00 USD (shipping/taxes not included).

It is an over-the-strut spacer with additional (replacement) rear control arms and simple front stabilizer link extensions (much discussion about first generation extensions that were, I suppose, underbuilt) but the sticky thread in this forum (first on list) makes it very clear that Rocky Road Outfitters have stepped up to the plate; redesigned/rebuilt the part; and offer it in current/future/previous (just ask) purchases.

All hardware/fittings included plus instructions (check your kit for completeness and proper bolts, etc). Some other forum contributors (hvac59) provided additional instructions w/pics (very comprehensive).

Immediately after install the gap lessened a tiny bit but still looks great. Didn't have any perceptible handling oddities between home/alignment shop but drove tamely and only 20 kilometers. Alignment went OK but just pointed out the nature of the kit to techs beforehand - and, like me, if your steering wheel is off-center one way or the other you'll want to make sure they address that. Post-alignment handling seems fine but won't have substantial mileage for a few days (have to leave town on business). However, it seems - in a microscopic way - like I'm adjusting the wheel to stay on track a little more than I thought I did. I consider this the circumstance of a higher center of gravity or am just too fussy. Afterall, my personality forces me to shrug if my house burns down but go AWOL if I get mustard on my shirt (hee, hee)...

WhatARiot, I have only had lift and tires installed for a short period of time and do not drive great lengths to work. However on the two tanks I have shown a slight fall in gas mileage.

Here are my results:
26.0-28.0 mpg - Stock
24.0-27.5 mpg - K&N AirCharger (CAI) - took two tanks to figure out economical driving habits with additional power.
25.0-27.0 mpg - RRO Lift w/ K&N
24.6-25.3 mpg - 245/65R17's w/ RRO Lift and K&N (only two tanks) - still trying to find the new sweet spot (RPM) for best economy.

I am considering removing the K&N AIR Charger (CAI) to see how that will effect my gas mileage and normal performance now that the tires and lift are installed.
