I know right?? I really thought Fiat was going to keep things looking good... but I was wrong. This will likely suffer the same abysmal sales numbers as the compass did when it came out, and get an amazing redesign in a couple years. Hopefully sooner if the sales are low enough. It has so much potential! They just need to fix the front end....

Id like to see the rear or a rear 3/4 shot.

This is not a good looking vehicle. Redesign, definately....btw, I hope the muffler still sticks out like a piece of luggage someone forgot to away AND I hope they didnt put dual exhaust on it because no body thinks that looks cool (joke).

All the waiting and the hype...disappointing...how about some early releases of ideas and design to better gauge future buyers approval or disapproval....oh wait that would be forward thinking.

The interior looks great, and the powertrain looks great, and your right, it does look like it is a high quality vehicle. Personally, I hate it because the grill has an ugly crease in it and they stuck the headlights into the bumper, similar to the ugly Nissan Juke. No matter the quality and mpg, if it is ugly I'm not driving it. I honestly think my Patriot's resale value just went up a tick... something I was not expecting to ever happen

Here are pictures of the amazing interior:

when the libby first came out, i thought it was ugly as sin... and then they made it slightly better...
I agree. This one may look great 3 years from now, but for right now it looks like a blue rolling turd to me...

...but to call it a cherokee... its just not right.
I also agree. Spirit is starting to sound pretty good too

i wouldn't mind the 3.2l though... or if they were to make a 2.8l variant... That's one of three things I really wish my pat had....

1) more power
2) a gas tank twice as big as the current one...
3) rear doors that were about 2-3 inches wider when opened, so it would be easier to get my kids in and out.

It's going to be a winner if it is reliable and performs, you knew something was coming that spelled change for Jeep design.
I'm thinking red with the black trim and old reversed out CHEROKEE CHIEF on the door splash panels. No chrome please and lose the roof rails.
Yeh, I'm thinking mods already.
The wife liked it if anyone is keeping score.
Power and economy in a Jeep will make it for me.
Price-point is my only question for the 4x4 version, it has to be closer to $30k than $20k, you would think. Starting in the low $20s for a base model, maybe $26 for the base 4x4?
And still no ass shot!

I love everything about it but the headlights and grill. Now that they are getting serious feedback, I'm hopeful there is still time to update the front before the NY auto show :D

First thing i thought of when i seen that thing was---INFINITI JEEP.

i wouldn't say it's ugly,but it looks like a smaller scale GC.
it has something of the jeep styling in it,but sort of modernized.
i would compare this to the latest model vw new beetle, that has something of the old vw kafer in it,but modernized.
can't say i hate it,but can't say i love it either.
a plus would be the "solid" sensation when looking at it.looks of higher quality than anything before in the jeep range.
hope it's no just looks and the quality is there.
if there were no patriot,i think i might buy it over any japanese or korean suv.
i wonder what the pat replacement will loo like...

P.S. i hope they'll throw in a diesel

I think another real concern might be safety. I think every now and the we'll hear about some ******* with an XJ or Wrangler kamakazing into the nearest 2014 Cherokee they see

It's the middle lights and bent grill that's stupid. It would look so much better with a flatter grill and if you remove the middle lights and relocate them to the top lights but in the same shape as the top lights. The front end looks as if it is being mirrored, and Nissan Juke screams at me when I see it. The juke is an odd ball looking car, but its tolerable, this is just f'd up. Id say a Juke, aztec, and GC decided to have sex. Its gotta a jeep grill, with an aztec layout, with a juke face.
