NHPATRIOT is correct. I just finished installing a camera (w/ lockpick) to use with 430RBZ and haven't noticed any problems.

If you use the mopar kit where it comes w/ the rearview mirror based LCD display, I think you'd lose the microphone which come on the rearview mirror for uconnect-enabled models.

Yes, if you go through mopar accessories, you can not use Uconnect anymore. Uconnect uses the mic thats in the auto dimming mirror, so the rear camera system replaces the mirror with one that has a screen in it. You don't lose ucconnect, you just lose the ability to use it for what its designed for. but I would buy the lockpick system and use that if you have a screen radio. If not, you have some thinking to do, on what you would like to do, lol

I wasn't thinking about the camera kit that displays in the rearview mirror. Yeah that could be an issue with the UConnect if it doesn't include a microphone( I would think you could add a microphone though to the appropriate plug in spot on the back of the head unit like you would if adding UConnect to a vehicle that did not come with it? ). A regular camera run through the headunit though and it won't cause any issues.

I do agree with this. If you can find out which wire is the mic, you can wire in your own mic, and problem solved! I actually like this idea better, id go for it! I can tell you the uconnect plug will be the middle small plug behind the radio, one of those wires is prolly the mic. If you cant figure it out, then one of the wires up by mirror would have to be a mic, and that should be easy enough to find.

It is the middle plug you are right. You can buy a mic that plugs in there from MOPAR or aftermarket for $50 +/-. No need to have to figure out the wiring. The bigger issue is will the radio see it and use it? If not can it be flashed to use it? Most say they are for the touchscreen style head units( 430/730 ). Not sure what head unit the OP has?

Good point! Cause if you plug it in, will it respond to the uconnect module? When I looked at my radio, only the sat, am/fm antenna, main harness, and middle plug were plugged in. I see that the aftermarket uconnect kit plugs into the main harness, and the main harness plugs into the uconnect module. So who knows how it works really. I would say it should be trouble free. Give what NHPATRIOT said a try and buy the mic for about $50, and let us know if it works!

No guarantee these will work but they might. These plug into the factory location and seeing as you have UConnect now "maybe" the mic slot is active and will work? I believe the mirror mic runs off the same slot so it should work but you never know with this stuff.
I dont see why this wouldn't work. The uconnect system would not be disabled, you just wouldn't be able to speak into it. But if you buy the mic and plug it in, you should be fine. If you let the dealer do it, make sure to tell them to leave the uconnect system alone, and do not disconnect anything from it except the mic. Either way this should still be an easy fix.
