Wow. Looks great... you would never know it's aftermarket.

Thanks for the feed back--just picked up today and I am really liking it. The Jeep dealership set me up with their guy--his shop is their factory authorized yadda, yadda, yadda...

I am in West Michigan (Grand Rapids area) and the shop was down near Kalamazoo. Its Auto Image, Plainwell, MI (if any one is near or interested 269.685.5841). The total price was $1050.

I choose them because it was really was cheaper and it wasn't an "up and out" model, but a slide in. All the places I tried calling here in the Grand Rapids area were "up and out" and about $200 more. Thanks goodness I asked my guy at the Jeep store on a whim.

As I am thinking about installing an aftermarket sunroof I am curious wheter this (or any other aftermarket sunroof) is still leak free.
Could anyone with an aftermarket sunroof share his experiences?
Thanks!

any updates? leaks? issues? - dealer quoted me at $1200 to install one of their "factory approved yada yada yada sunroofs"

Two things scares me about a sunroof in the Patriot:
1. Getting a good tight seal around the ridges on top of the roof.
2. Introducing additional flex into the chassis from the opening.

Now, seeing how my roof already springs up and down just opening/shutting a door, there probably isn't going to be any additional flex in the chassis from a sunroof. But the seal sitting tight around the roof ridges is something I'm concerned about.

Webasto Hollilanda sell good aftermarket sunroofs here in Australia. I've had one before on a Mazda Protege5, but I did get some flex in the chassis from it. :(
