I was wondering has anybody tried to put the MyGig in the Patriot yet?
I just wanted to know, 'cause if it works I would like to keep the stock stereo in my '08 and when I pick it up at the dealership, I will just ask them to through the MyGig in it. I believe that they are putting it into the Liberty this year so I can't see why it won't work on the Patriot. Please let me know.

20 Gb harddrive

What is a MyGig?

and infotainment system
just another toy to add to the list

The system goes a step beyond iPods and other entertainment devices by putting a 20-gigabyte hard drive in the dashboard.

MyGIG allows drivers to download up to 1,600 songs. Users also can put up to eight photos and an address book into the system. Navigation maps with a three-dimensional appearance also are stored on the hard drive. MyGIG incorporates real-time traffic information from Sirius Satellite Radio.

The My-Gig system doesn't work with the medium speed CAN bus systems that are in the Patriot.

The entertainment systems in the Patriots are scheduled to change in 2009, look for the My-Gig then. If it's not available as an option, it would most likely still work with them if you wanted to install one yourself. I'll know more later in the model year...

Seems to be some skeptiks, the unit i have is a REP which is a MYGIG, Australian version, and by using the adaptor 99% of functionality is achieved, the only main issue is the clock, as the mygig does not have an internal clock and is designed to get clock data from the car, the newer canbus networks so called high speed have a central system clock, expecting all parts in the next week, the center console will jhave to be moded for the factory look, which isnt a biggy...btw i won the mygig on ebay for the ridiculous price of 600aud so im ahaed anyways;)

I also received the MyGig radio bought from Ebay, I received the adapter from Coastaletech. But now I need to solve 2 problems.

1-How to bring the Sirius antenna from the back to the front with a cable that will fit the one that is already there.

2-Install the radio with the NAV radio bazel and do a clean install.(fittings, where to buy) :)

as i dont have sirius in australia i would assume that extending the cable shouldnt be to hard, i suggest talking with a car audio place, as to the bezel, i am modifying the standard bezel(chopping) as the nav bezel is to big and a custom surround would have to fabricated, i will post pics soon as i have not recievd the lockpic adaptor yet and im still sanding etc the standard bezel to see what the results will be, i have a fall back plan on fabricating a surround for the nav bezel as well, so i can compare the 2 for all to see aswell

There is a thread on here somewhere that shows two different adapters that fit the Nav bezel to be adapted to fit aftermarket radios. Part numbers are listed even. they would probably be of use in getting a good look when installing the my gig

Thanks Pepe, I was at work and feeling to lazy to search for em, You da man!

i have both bezels and also the above kits, unfortunatly in all cases none will fit suitably, the dimensions of the mygig is about half way between both center bezels, to me modding an original will give the best results, but i am going to do a bezel plate for the rec bezel aswell so i can give comparisons for all to see;)

IT WORKS..ok running fine in the baby only issue i have found is the lockpick adaptor and my scanguage11 conflict, causes reboots etc of the mygig, after disconecting the scanguage runs fine if i replug the scanguage things go silly again, i suspect the adaptor is sending extra data etc that conflicts with the scanguage..no biggy, more fiddling etc to do but will do a better critique over the weegend:banana:...a big thankyou to wwwade for orginising the adaptor etc for me

ok ive posted in the knowledge forum and may add later extra stuff, but after reseting the car(disconected the battery for a while) every thing is running perfect even the scanguage 2, also have a front and back camera...which is really cool..now to rip all my cds into it

well i have to say this is a mod woprth very much to do, the latest software makes the unit very much worth the effort, i will definatly insist on the unit if and when i upgrade my pat, the 09 model is offering it, the extra expense is worth it
