I work at an Advertising agency and we shot a commercial about Bike/Car safety this past week. They needed a small SUV as the vehicle and I was asked to volunteer. :D I also was the staff photographer...

While everything went fairly smooth, they did scratch the door paint with their big camera suction-cup mounting device, but I can buff it out no problem. They also managed to gouge the interior plastic of the rear passenger door. That I'm a bit pissed about... but it'll be fun to see my Pat in local commercials!

My Pat with the "talent" at the wheel... not me!

Who says Pat's don't have room? Try the driver and passenger, three camera crew, a camera, lights and batteries all inside:

Overall a lot of fun, and got some compliments on the Pat. :D

So your Pat will be the evil truck from 'Duel' in the commercial? ;)

It may be weird since you work for the company, but when I was shooting commercials at various TV stations, we replaced and paid for just about anything we did damage to.
Even tho we had the participants sign papers releasing us from responsibility, if we had someone raise a stink, we did not fight it and just fixed it.

Of course these were local TV stations and the last thing we wanted to do was get a bad rep in the community as bullies.

Door panel is prob only a couple hundred bucks, if that. Pennies for you big glossy ad agencies with your high dollar lunches and slick lobbies. ;)

You usually get paid a standard rate for the use of the car. Mileage & per diem. A friend of mine received $xx per day to use his car as background in "We are Marshall." They replaced the battery as well due to the night scenes. These are industry standard rates.

I have decided that the Patriot was designed to flaw easily with dents, dings, and scrapes. This adds character like distressed leather or an old hardwood floor. Actually, I decided if I let these things bother me they seem to happen more often. Battle scars, just grunt and go on like a scrape while mountain biking.
