This leaky roof problem spread through-out 07 - 09 Patriots, wonder if it is the same with the Compass & Caliber?

 

i havent had that problem,
but others have,
believe some have gotten it fixed through the dealer
some are still having problems

If you have a sunroof I think its a poorly designed sunroof. I have had mine at the dealer 4 times for it. If you don't have a sunroof it may be where the roof rails attach to the roof. I think some have reported the roof rails not being sealed properly.

I have had 8 separate water leaks and a number of different electrical problems since I bought the vehicle 1.5 yrs ago. A ton of repairs were performed on the vehicle to fix the leaks, not to mention they re-welded my roof, to no avail. In total, my vehicle has been in the shop for 80 days since I bought it! (Craziness.) Ask me if it still leaks... Why yes it does!

I just found out today that I won my vehicle arbitration and Chrysler has to buy the car back. :smiley_thumbs_up:

honey wolf, glad to hear that people do win against the company. the car really works great when it works, but this leak problem is a blatant display of poor engineering, crappy quality, and just overall an easy sign as to why the company went ch.11. and what makes it worse is this is clearly a well documented problem, and there has been no recall.

Honey Wolf, How did you go about going through the process

 

In Canada we unfortunately don't have lemons laws, but we do have CAMVAP (Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan). I had to give my dealer and the manufacturer the chance to fix the probs before initiating the process. )You can find more details on the CAMVAP website about the process.) I ended up going to an actual arbitration with a Chrysler rep, presented my claim to the arbitrator (Chrysler did the same), and I ended up winning. :smiley_thumbs_up:
Chrysler's answer to my water leaks is that you're not supposed to go through car washes, (how ridiculous!)... Their response doesn't cover all the leaks I've had in the rain though. Ugh.

Since I bought my '08 Pat, it has been in service for almost 80 days, for the 8 different water leaks, and a number of electrical probs. I think my win was a no-brainer.

 

I have the same problem! It's very annoying. Mine has only leaked twice though. They could not find the problem. I even brought it in leaking and they couldn't find it. Have a few other issues as well and they can't resolve those either.
