Well, I have been looking at Patriots for almost a year and I finally pulled the trigger. I ordered a true blue 2013 FD1 with a 5speed, I opted for the tire and wheel package and power value package. I was kind of shocked to find out that 5 speeds are so hard to find with 4 wheel drive.

I've been reading posts on here for months and just wanted to say thanks for all the info. I will be posting pics as soon as I can, there will be a loooonnggg 4 - 6 week wait ahead!

That's pretty much the one I want. I could tolerate the stock steel wheels though but I want a blue one with a/c, power group package, 5 speed and 2.4L. Yours is probably really close to that! Did you get the 2.0L or opt for the 2.4L?

I got the 2.4. I'm pretty sure this is the only engine that you can get with 4 wheel drive. Finding a 5 speed on a dealer lot was almost impossible and all of the ones available had almost zero options.

The salesman that I was working with found one close to what I wanted, but it was 2 states away. This was last Friday, the last day of the month and he really wanted to make the sale before the end of the month. He made me an awesome offer on this one and the dealership that actually had the jeep would not let him have it. So, he offered to build me one at the same price. Right now it's going to be about 4k under sticker and if the incentives are better at the time I pick it up, I will get them instead so the price could go even lower!

Welcome!

Also keep in mind, if incentives go away, the price will go up when you pick it up. Happened to me, took a long time for mine to come in, and the day I went to get it the price was about $2K higher than we agreed to, so I walked away. About a month later the salesman called me saying they still had it, and had new incentives. I went back, and got it for less than the original price quoted when I ordered it.

Do you have it in writing? I tell you, I was floored when I walked in with a check for the agreed upon amount, and was told it was 2 grand more because incentives had expired while it was on order.

I have our agreed upon price at the time the order was placed in writing. This will be my first new car and all of the nightmare stories I hear about crook dealerships are scary. I guess we will see what happens when I go to pick it up.

Dealers around my area have very few 5 speeds and none had the simple options I wanted. LAME!! I only want a 2.4L FWD, 5 speed, power group, that's all. It's it too much to ask for a 5 speed and power locks even? Had over 50 patriots and none were perfect. I might have to try another dealer but still what a pain.

You may just have to order it. I don't think I could have found what I wanted on a dealer lot. The closest one was two states away and the dealership that had it wouldn't let it go. I did find a used 2012 with the options I wanted, but they were asking mor for it than what I will be paying for the 2013.

I got the jeep home last night at around 9:00. On the drive home it was raining so I haven't had the chance to drive it much yet. When the weather clears up I will get a few pics for everyone.

The buying experience was rather painless and only took about an hour. The price that I negotiated with the salesman did "magically" grow when I got to the finance manager, but after making a few calls he got it worked out. The snafu seemed planned to me in a last chance effort to get more $$$ out of us, but in the end we got the price we wanted.
