Does anyone know if this rear air deflector requires drilling?

yes it does, I have one. 2 mounting brackets (left-right) with 2 holes each on top edge of rear gate with some king of slugs with a hole in the center hammered in the hole so the screws get a good grip. Flat Bottom of support covered with caulking to prevent water coming in. Had it done at dealer. No problems.
