Hello everyone;

I have a 2007 Limited 2.4L and the muffler is in really bad shape and makes a lot of noise. It needs to be replaced but, I can't find a good replacement. I found the Walker 50062 and it says it is an exact fit for the 2.0L model only. Are there major differences between the 2.4L and the 2.0L? I want to keep it quiet so don't want to go with chrome-loud mufflers.

Thanks!

A good muffler shop should not have to look at direct fitment options but be able to custom mount any universal muffler similar to the patriot. The patriot is not the only SUV that uses a rectangular style muffler and I'm sure the aftermarket companies make something similar

OP;

I don't see where you say if your 2007 Patriot is 4WD or not? If you have a 4WD Walker does not offer a direct fit replacement muffler or pipes. However, if you have a FWD/2WD they do...

The Walker part # is 50062. You can get the same muffler from any Napa using the same part #( their standard exhaust is Walker ).

If you are going to replace the muffler because it is bad chances are the exhaust pipes/tubing on the rest of the system is as well( or darn close ). I would personally replace the intermediate pipe( cat to muffler ). Walker calls it the Resonator as the pipe has a Resonator on it. Part # is 56193 and is a good part # for Walker and Napa.

All Limiteds 2.4L are 4WD. The problem is not where I can get the muffler or how much it will cost me, I just want a QUIET close to original muffler and can't find any reviews or info. It seems I'm the first person who has got to replace the muffler and not make louder or shiner.

That Walker number is for a FWD not a 4WD by appplication. All 2007 Patriot Limited models were not 4WD. Not sure where you got that info?

It might just be the intermediate pipe that is different on the 2 models and not just the muffler itself. I can only go by application. Different exhaust between FWD and 4WD through MOPAR but that is muffler and pipe as an assembly.

Walker exhaust when you buy OEM replacement mufflers like the 50062 generally produce OEM like noise. The 50062 is not a performance muffler so it shouldn't be loud. It won't be polished either.

I have a 2007 4X2 Limited, so all Limiteds definitely were not 4X4...

As for the muffler...can we not just get an OEM from MOPAR if it were ever needed???? Would the Compass not work? Or the Caliber? Just wondering if same engine/platform would use similar mufflers....

As a rule when you buy mufflers OEM you get the muffler and the intermediate pipe( and even a taiilpipe many times )welded up as one assembly. Chrysler doesn't offer the 2007 Patriot muffler seperate. Only the exhaust system( intermediate pipe with muffler ). For the 2007 Patriot 4WD that system will set you back anywhere from $300-$400+ depending on where you get it and if the dealer will offer a discount.

thanks for the muffler video repost! mine is 60 series flowmaster 2.25 center inlet/offset outlet. just a little deeper than stock, but the look alone is alot better imho! let me know if you have any other questions.
