I thi nk all things considered it wasn't that bad. Niether body hit any hard surfaces and the resraints held . Yes they would be real sore if this was real but nothing looked Life threatening at all.

That Sled hit right at the door joint as well I wonder if it hit a bit more towards the front if it wouldn't have looked that it went in as bad.

I love How deep the Floor boards are in my Riot I think this makes a hugh difference in leg injuries.

The side air bags deployed and although it was dented badly the body integrity seemed to hold. Folks were knocked around and possible left arm fractures could happen.

The front collision was as good as you can get. The crumple zone took the force and the body integrity of the passenger area was excellent.

I think it did OK, but NOTHING is perfect out in the real world, so be careful out there!

Loving the song by Tatu...lol. I thought it was great seeing those supplemental side airbags deploy. I got those on my Pat without even knowing it, wondered how they worked. I feel safer now:)

just wondering why they don't put 4 dummies in it. Do the side curtains (gotta love that name "curtains") deploy on the other side? I usually have 3 other people with me

I will testify to that from first hand knowledge !!! WHEN YOU ROLL A PATRIOT...BOTH SIDE AIR CURTAINS DEPLOY !!! A couple months back I had a "VERY" bad wreck. I had a front collision that caused the Pat to roll 4 times and then slide down the road on the roof ! Every airbag in the house went off ! The roof was only slightly distorted (from the slide, not so much the rolls) and the body was wrinkled up but intact. I walked away with a black eye. (literally). The crumple zones on the front of the vehicle did their duty. I don't care what anyone interprets from the video...all I know is that I have to believe the curtains helped to save my life. So now that I have played crash test dummy and needed another vehicle what was I to do ??? Don't be silly...I bought another new Patriot !!! This is my wifes daily driver , and now I KNOW it will hold up in a crash, so it was a no brainer.

Thanks Tom ....and Hawgman94, that crash sounds terrible, glad to hear the Riot is safe for me and the family (hopefully we never have to use the airbags etc.)

A bit more information:

First collision is with no "seat side" air bag, the second test has the optional seat side airbags installed. If your vehicle is equipped with them the rating increases. Despite all the flaling around the rating is accpetable and the maximum injuries for the average person would be broken rib(s).

One question I have is where the heck do all those air bags come from? I looked at my seat sides and I see the Airbag logo, but have no idea where they blow out. Same with the curtain bags. Not sure I want to take a screw driver and poke around there either !!

I frame stepped that Video the Curtians come from the Center Top and Fan down . Looks to start right above the Seatbelt Point.

The Seat one looks like it comes out of the Seam, deploying from around what would be the Kidney area forward towards the Door controlls.

This makes a Hugh difference from the looks of things as it Deploys first and moves you from the door before the Curtian even comes down.
