I want to become a member of this forum to learn about jeep patriot. I had a jeep cherokee 4.0 limited of the 1993, and i was very satisfied with it! later i becomed a land rover discovery's owner, but i have a problem to week since too time ago... i need a car that goes well in mountain roads, in mud, in snow, and it can goes well towing a caravan in summer hollidays...

My main interest is too know aspects about Pat, like its fiability, the main mistakes it presents to their owners...

I to am new and went yesterday to touch , feel and drive, that being said started to look at the Libertys, WOW!. did some internet checking can get into one for around 3K more. From what you described and what you have been driving you might look at them also just to cover all the bases. My take is a Liberty is a poor mans Range Rover. Sorry but the Patriot reminded me of a vechile i would rent on vacation. I tried to post links for dealers and prices but site will not let me need more posts.

Welcome!

I looked at the Liberties as a potential replacement for my Tracker, but the mileage was not good. The 4-5 folks I talked to all said around 17MPG, and some said even worse.

I'm getting around 23-24 in the Pat, and since I drive over 25,000 miles a year, that makes a difference.
