Hey! open up the hood and you'll see sort of a 'heat deflector' right behind the middle dashboard area...

I think that heat comes from the engine 'cause you can feel it even when the lights are turned off.

Mine is 2007...
Today I drove 5 hours with the dashboard lights dimmed at its minor level and noticed almost no heat in the 'cubby'
