Gas Cap

I've been getting check engine lights and a few "gascap" warnings. Last week I pushed down when I screwed the cap on and it seems to be tighter now. I've haven't had any warnings since. The days I got the "gascap" warnings it was extremely hot and humid.

Is it just my car or does the dash display actually say "9ascap"? It took me a second to figure out what the heck it said.
