As far as I can tell you will need to find a seat from an up model Riot. Junk Yards in a few month maybe a wrecked Riot or order from dealer. As I understand it the construction of the seat is very different.
From the service manual it seems that the fold-flat passenger seat uses a different seat back frame so while yes it can be converted the cost would be prohibitive.
It sucks that this isn't standard on all trims of the Patriot. This is one of those options that should be available especially on the base Patriot because it is a utility feature, and most people who buy the base Patriot are interested in utility more than luxury. You might have to wait a few years until these beginning appearing at salvage yards.
Funny this should come up now. Did anyone else notice that the vehicle in the show room brochure pictures a vehicle that can not exist? The photo of the base Patriot with vinyl seats, shows the passenger seat folded flat and a bunch on skis on top of it. It goes on to boast about the wonderful utility of the no frills Patriot. What gives? I was planning to go into my dealer next week and ask them to find me the seat in the photo.
