For the people who have actually put 245/65-17's on their pat...

what mods did you have to do it? I am looking at getting the RRO lift, is that necessary to fit this sized tire, and did you have to get wheel spacers? if so where did you get them from?
Where exactly does it rub in the wheel well? Is this best solved with a hammer or can the offending place be trimmed for a better fit?

Thanks.

As far as I know no one has that big of tire though I could be wrong? That seems a bit wide for the Pats liking. I guess it's doable depending on the wheels you have

A few members have put that size. A couple have gone bigger. But you're certainly limiting your target pool.

Let me try to help here. First of all I have 235/65/17 on my patriot. The tires rubbed at full lock until I installed my 1.25" spacers that I bought here on ebay.

I remember 1 member who installed that size on a non-lifted patriot. When I installed my tires the RRO lift was already installed. But based on the suspension setup of the patriot when you lift it the tires actually draw in slightly. It seems rubbing will occur whether its lifted or not but slightly more when lifted. The rubbing occurs on the inner wheel well which seems to mean the problem is the width not so much the height. The spacers should solve the rubbing, but if it doesn't a hammer and heat will.
