Hi all,

Just purchased my 2011 Jeep Patriot Latitude, overall very happy with it.
I was wondering if there's any way at all that I can somehow bypass the limiter restricting my passengers to enjoy movies while in motion. Having kids and all they like to watch movies while we drive but it doesn't help us at all if the Uconnect display won't allow them to view the movie unless we're parked.

I've looked here in the forums and found some brief information regarding grounding/earthing the parking brake wire from the head unit and such. But I was hoping to find an in-depth walkthrough or video on the procedure in order to achieve this.

Any help is appreciated :)

Well if you want to be totally unsafe and don't mind the possibility of getting a ticket for anywhere from $150 - $300, even worse getting in an accident and hurting yourself or others. Sure there is a way. http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG.htm

This will do what you are asking but you should know that it is illegal in most states to have an active video player in the front passenger compartment. I know most would say, ahh I won't be watching it my passengers will. But it is guaranteed that you will find yourself looking down and watching at some point and time.
Not trying to be a total ass, but I had a friend that was rear ended by a person that was watching a movie and this was proved when witnesses came to the vehicle to help and the movie was still playing.
