So about a month ago my ETC light started to intermittently flash on the highway and kinda hesitate. I figured I needed to clean the throttle body and waited to do so. Tonight after detailing the interior I put the key in accessory and noticed the ETC and ESC light were on. I started her up and she sputtered and stalled out. Let it sit for a few minutes and restarted fine but the MIL light was on and has been on since. I'm throwing the following codes:
U1407 x2
U1424 x2
U1425 x2

I'm not planning on driving until I can get to a mechanic on Monday, but anyone have any clues as to what this could be?

you said it was throwing codes and asked what they could be.....

i gave you links

if you said you had already found what the codes said but couldn't understand what they actually mean, that's different..... but i wasn't going to assume that now was i?

:icon_rolleyes:

Chrysler DTCs, in my experience (limited), are not typical, and don't match those of the other manufacturers. The info is out there, but its not always easy to nail down the issues. Hell, Autozone will give you a printout of your DTCs, unless its a Chrysler product, and then they can only match them up to whatever is in their system, since Chrysler makes weird codes. Shame on Autozone? Not really, since anyone with a Patriot should know that Chrysler is not keen on any form of computer tuning on our rigs...

So, I think we can cut some slack for a junior member of the forum, right? No need to be holier-than-thou...

Thanks for the info ntc! Autozone is actually the first place I went to find out what kind of codes she might be throwing. I couldn't get an idea of what could be happening just by the descriptions I found. Anyways went to a great mechanic today who said it's probably a software issue and I should go to the dealership. He said since it's fairly new and I'm the only owner it should be covered, but I guess we'll see.

Harold, I never asked for a description of the codes, I asked what it could possibly be. Let's let bygones be bygones. I understand it could be easy to misinterpret since a lot of people I'm sure use the forums for easy answers instead of doing the research.

I'll let you guys know what happens in case someone else ever has the issue.

U1407 =Implausible Static Engine Torque Signal Received
U1424 =IMPLAUSIBLE ENGINE TORQUE RECEIVED.
U1425 =CAN DATA MALFUNCTION

go get it fixed at the dealer asap
