Dealers VS Chrysler

As an exemple I refere to this thread
http://www.jeeppatriot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4607
Could have gone to threads concerning water leaking also.

The point :
Why ask «which dealer do you go to?»

The problem is not the dealer but a problem of conception, design, assembling and quality at the building plant. Why search for a faulty dealer? Chrysler top administrators and directors are the only entities reponsable for these issues of flapping hood and water leaking. Their silence and lack of correction is significant of the importance given to customers and owners.
Very bad attitude and a very negative marketing approach. The financial drop of Chrysler might not be over!

No one is taking action, no one takes responsability, no one to pilot the issues, no excuses, no feed back... nothing as far as problem solving by engineers. You bought it...you got it...now ?%$"&@....it!

Thank you Chrysler for being so comprehensive! So close to the ones who made you survive...will never forget your incomparable attitude when owners needed you! :notworthy:

So if this year you have lower sales rate...I might be a part of the drop factor. Will see in the next months what actions are taken. I'm not interested in buying a vehicule knowing I might end up with such unsolved problems.

The public expects too much

I Have Jeeps from every time period. My favorites are from the Kaiser era. Fit and finish has never been a selling point for Jeep. If that is what you are after,......you bought the wrong car. Moving away from the CJ design where it was all metal and you could see all the screws and spot welds was a mistake. Wind noise and water leaks were just bragging rights of those bold enough to drive the very best 4x4.

my question to "patriotpierre" is this; How many letters have you sent Chrysler? not the dealer, CHRYSLER? how many others have contacted CHRYSLER as well?

being an employee at the dealership level, i understand your frustration. we get the same crap from Chrysler LLC. every day. BUT i also see it every day that when the customer contacts Chrysler's Customer Service, things usually get done.

a great example is recently a woman had her new 08 Liberty rear-ended. it needed a rear body panel, of which there were none to be found. our dealer put it on a "Special Handling" order, but after a couple weeks of waiting, the 'ETA' of the part kept getting pushed back. one call from the customer to Chrysler and within a couple days, her part was shipped to us. while we, at the dealership level, can bitch and complain until we're blue in the face, sometimes all it takes is ONE CALL from the customer and 'voila', things are made right.

although we're glad that Chrysler listens to its 'customers' as they do, if they would only listen to the 'dealership personnel' as well, many of their headaches would have never began in the first place.

all i'm saying is that you'll get further by contacting CHRYSLER direct, not through your dealer. CALL THEM or WRITE THEM and all of you on this forum that has had problems with your Jeeps, do the same. contrary to popular belief, they DO listen. maybe not at first, but they DO eventually.....

Well....I sent them an email, (chrysler.ca) about the Flapping Hood issue, told them the dealer refused to inform chrysler themselves what I flagged as a potential saftey issue, so Im doing it myself.
I told them I showed the service manager, my salesman, and the salesmanager, and they all basically refused to step up to the plate and do anything.
In my email, I included the utube link, and suggested they visit any show room themselves and grab the hood by the windshiled and see for themselves.
I made mention that every 2007 and 2008 patriot owner I know and have seen in the showrooms are like this. I asked them to perhaps look at the Compass as well.

You bought the wrong brand of car.

I saw your video.

You should see the hoods on my Jeepsters when another car passes. Sometimes I think they are going to fly off. If that little bit of movement on the Patriot bothers you, you would go ape if you saw what my Jeeps do. These are $20,000 Jeeps. Not $45,000 Cadillacs. Please buy a more expensive car so you will obtain the level of "fit and finish" quality you expect.

On the flip side, did you look under the hood at the hinges? Is there something that is loose? Did you try to figure out what part of the hinge is moving? Jeeps are a "hands on" vehicle. You have to be willing to goof around with them a little to get them the way you want them. "It's a Jeep thing" Do you understand?
