Considering selling my Wrangler

I'm not sure this is the right place for this, but I thought I'd start somewhere. I bought a 2006 Wrangler in January of 07. I've always wanted a Jeep, so I bought one of the last 06 models available. The thing is, I'm not so sure I'm as much of a Jeep guy as I thought I would be. It only has 3600 miles! I only drive it for fun and don't think I will ever be in a position to go "off roading". Is there still a market for the older style Wranglers or have the newer styled models taken over? It's in perfect shape.

Thanks!

If it is a Rubicon, then it should hold it's value pretty well and if I had money in hand right now, I'd buy it off you! It is considered one of the best wranglers as it was more capable of off roading/ and nicer hwy travel right off the show room floor than other 2006 wrangler models. Something about a 10" longer wheel base made it more pleasant on the Hwy, and lots more to talk about... I'm sure someone will correct me or add to this :)

...Why not?

Of course, if Jeeping doesn't appeal to you then it doesn't. Just wondering about that statement. 99.99% of the globe is something other than a road. :)

Wranglers have an excellent resale value and many here have both wrangler and patriot. It is even rumored that some here are trying to get the full set of Jeep models.

Ahem... I think you should trade in your Wrangler for a Patriot.

*wink wink nudge nudge*

Seriously, even if you're not a "Jeep guy," the Patriot is still a great choice. Get a 4x2 so you're not spending unnecessary money / insurance on 4x4 features that you don't want or need and enjoy a smooth ride in a nice vehicle with impressive MPGs... and the overall sticker price ain't bad either.

Don't just take my word for it though... troll through the countless posts in this forum. Besides the complaints about rattling and leaking (I have experienced none in my 2008, by the way) I would say that the majority of Patriot Parents on this site LOVE their Jeep :D

The problem is, I don't want to make a rash decision. I did test drive a Patriot about a year ago and liked it very much. The dealer offered a ridiculous amount for my trade and then I lost interest. I was also quite concerned with all of the leaking reports on this forum. So, I just kind of put everything off. Now I have this almost new Jeep in the garage that only gets driven around town on errands.

Goldenfalcon, I am in the Chicago suburbs. My Wrangler is a silver "X" model with air, hard doors, and a six speed manual transmission.....sorry.

But as already stated, I'm not sure I want to go through with it just yet. How realistic is the Kelly Blue Book pricing?

Sounds like your purchase was a little rash, so it is not smart to compound the error. Sounds like you need some adventure in your life.

Here is what you do. You find a nice gal take a week off of work this summer, then you toss a tent in the back and head straight north up to my neck of the woods (the U.P. of Michigan can't be but 6 or 7 hours at the most until you hit the border), and then you just fill up the tank and turn down the first logging road you come across and just starting wandering! Bring your camera and some warm clothes.
