Hi -

having a problem with my compass 07 - when making temperature hot - it's hot only for the driver. for passenger - the air for legs is cold and for head is cold or even doesn't blow ok.

If set cold - air is cold for both passenger and driver.

Did anyone have such problems with their Patriots/Compasses?

Thanks

I can't say as I can answer your question for I noticed something somewhat similar last night when the temperature fell to 32F/0C. I put the heater controls to mid in the red zone and selected both upper and lower vents (no defrost that would cause the a/c to kick in). As I was driving. I felt my legs becoming somewhat toasty (no big deal) and yet I could feel on tepid air on my face (actually cool and tepid air alternating in my face. That was on residential streets for about 15 minutes. Temp gauge said it was at temp, btw.

Then I pulled on to the highway. I went from 60-70kmh (40-45mph) to 120kmh (70mph).

Well, the gush of hot air came blowing out of the upper vents and my face was basking in hot climes until I decelerated at the off ramp and a noticeable return of cool and tepid air alternating on my face returned.

Whaddup wi dat?

While not quite the same, I was driving home late last night and had the defroster on with warm air and when I turned the corner I thought I felt a pulse of cold air hit me in the face, but then went back to normal.

I thought and still do that I was hallucinating, it was late.

Congrats, you now have dual zone climate control... FREE MOD!!! :p

In all seriousness, there have been numerous reports on these boards of funny heating/cooling systems on these cars. Some report the air never getting cold enough/hot enough, some report temperature differentials between upper and lower, but yours is the first I've heard of that differentiates between drivers and passengers side. I think you need to visit the dealer for that one.

Thanks guys

I have visited my dealer. First they said that there can be a problem with my air filter (the one that is inside the car). When I've said that my car is new (it has only 7400 km) they said... oh ok... let's do additional check. The additional check took more then 2 hours and then they said - we don't know what can be the problem - we will write to Chrysler.

So today I have received response from them. They said that Chrysler has asked to check the antifreeze for white dots and then write to them again - they will say what to do with my car. So today I will go to dealer for this check.

Hope to get this fixed soon. My wife doesn't like cold air on her feet.:(
