Dunno if you're going to be able to disable it (that make sense?). But whenever I am vacuuming the car and need the door open, I just pull the keys about a 1/4 inch out of the slot and it stops that annoying beeping.
Yep, I always do that when I'm pumping gas so I can still hear my NPR... must have NPR at all times! :p

I can't friggin stand "unnecessary" noises so I always make sure to keep that key out just a tad... and to turn off my blinker promptly after using it! :D

OK...somewhat off topic here, but I've got a funny story to share about keeping the keys in locks and pulling them out just a hair...

We used to do that in one of our German apartments. We'd leave the key in the door and pull it out a click or two...that way we always had a key right there to lock the door at night.

Then our dog helped us discover that leaving the key in all the way prevented another key from being inserted all the way on the other side.

I came home from work for lunch one day to discover that Fred had nudged the key all the way into the lock from the inside, and I was locked out. By my dog.

Yeah...that was a fun phone call to make..."Uh...I'll be a little late coming back to work. My dog locked me out and I have to wait for maintenance to come drill the lock so I can get in..."

So we stopped doing that little trick pretty quickly.

I'm still waiting for the day of remote-keyless-entry into my home!
Didn't he also figure out how to open the front door in one of your apartments over there?!

Both of the apartments. Germans don't use doorknobs...they use the latch style handle.

Fred is a very clever little lab.....
He just wanted to go "mudding" and bring his mom along with him! (He's an "off-roader," didn't you know?!) :p

Odin has actually learned the mechanics of opening doors ~ he stretches up on his back feet and puts his front paws around the knob and tries to turn it, but his poor furry "snowshoes" just slip off... then he screams, scratches the door with one furious slash (sometimes biting it for good measure,) and screams some more until we let him outside to explore the garden... HA!
