Has anyone come up with a protector for leather seats from the marks that Toddler/child seats leave.

Any ideas, other than towels, that may protect the form of the leather without compensating safety ?

Thanks

Doug

GatorDoug,

Very nice post! Great research for the answer too. Many will benefit from it.

I think we're done here...

towels or blankets are better

The seat cover I agree may look better than towels or blankets however I do not think it is better than said towel or blanket. My rationale is towels and blankets can be easily washed and kids spill everything all the time. The solution is a nice wool blanket down first, followed by towel, followed by car seat. The towels soak up the spills and the wool blanket you can wrap up in if you ever find yourself accidently spending the night somewhere.

Car seats leave indentations into the seat.
Just like the strap that has to go over the headrest.
Who in the world designed those backseat headrest on the PATs never thought of car seat straps.
It took 5 days for the headrest to recover from having the strap crush it for just 2 days.
I used towels underneath the car seat. It still left 2 marks(indentations) in the leather.
I went to Walmart yesterday and purchased 2 seat protectors. They were $9 each.
I plan to use one of those and a towel under each seat.
I will put the seats back in tommorow when the wife gets home from work.

We use the Bench Seat Protector to protect the seat from some of the indentation but more to help contain the spills and from when the kids get sick in the car... (I have had to take apart the car seat several times due to milk spit-up).

It also keeps the crumbs and junk from getting wedged into the crack between the seat and the back. The whole thing comes out and is washable, too.

Munchkin is the brand I bought..
I installed 2 car seats back into the PAT this morning.
Went to my 4yo's soccer match.
We weren't even all packed back into the PAT when my 20mo puked all over the car seat and onto the space between the 2 car seats...
GREAT......
Got home.. took 45 mins to get the PAT cleaned back up to the now 'almost new' car smell... I wonder how it will smell tommorow after a day in the sun bakes it....

ARGH..
