Hello, I am very new to this forum, so I hope I am posting in the right section. I have a 2009 Jeep Patriot and when I put a certain cd in cd player it makes each song restart after it has played for 2 seconds and also plays an extar song of just static. This cd works on other cd players, it is just my cd player. Anyone come across this? Or any suggestions. And this is the second of this kind of cd.
Make sure CD is clean. If clean, no scratches or new, then I would go to the dealer and have it checked with that particular CD. Now, is it just one CD or any CD you use? If it's only one, it may be the CD. It may even be warped or something. Was it a CD you recorded or what? If you recorded the CD it may also be the media you used. The cheaper blank CD sometimes act differently in different units. I stick to the "higher" priced blank CD for that reason and avoid problems.

Sounds as if the player does not like that particular CD used by that recording company. It is a very big long shot at that happening but what you state makes it seem that way. All I could suggest is take it in to the dealer with "that" CD but in all honesty, they will just blame the CD since the headunit seems to play everything else. Do you have the headunit with the 20Gb hard disk? If so, try copying it to the hard disk. This would be with the touchscreen headunit. If not, maybe try copying the CD to a CD-R and then testing. If it plays fine that way, then the problem is most likely with the quality of the CD. If it doesn't play, then the headunit is having some sort of difficulty in reading the CD format. It shouldn't but there's really no other explanation.

Hmmm... didn't think of the TOC since he has the same problem on two different disks (same album though).

Then would recording to MP3 format on a CD-R help? I believe all Patriot headunits read MP3 don't they?
