ABS and Traction Control lights would intermittently illuminate simultaneously, but have been steady ON for a couple months. I had a service technician evaluate when I had my 2010 Patriot in for tire replacement and alignment. I suspected that I had a bad rear wheel speed sensor. Here is what they found:
ABS / Anti-Lock Brake System Concern
Concern? = abs and traction light are on, they were coming on intermittently, now there they are on solid
Cause = Scanned the ABS module - C2116 ABS PUMP MOTOR SUPPLY VOLTAGE LOW. Checked the power and ground inputs at the abs module and found them to be good.
Correction = Recommend replacing the ABS module along with the hydraulic unit. It is common for the pump motor to fail and damage the module.
The estimate for parts and labor is $1700+ for pump and module replacement. Has anyone had these parts fail? Did you replace one or both? I didn't authorize the shop to do the work.
