Recently decided to black out my taillights. I researched about using plastidip and i saw the results and I just wasn't a fan. i asked around and the best paint I was told to use is called VHT Nightshade. You can purchase it at advanced for $14.99. I only sprayed one coat. I wasn't sure how the red was going to shine through. I personally love the way it looks and I figured Id show you guys and maybe you would want to do the same. Now that I had my front windows tinted i'm loving the way my jeep is turning out. Check out my previous post about black on black on black. Still a few little things to do such as PATRIOT on the doors and my latitude badge. I hope you guys enjoy.

The lighting outside makes the close up photos not look as good.

I did the same, with a couple layers of clear on top. Yours looks darker than mine. I have debated going darker. At least i have no tickets with this amount of darkness!

Yeah they look great in person. I had a cop friend of mine check them out and he said they wont give me any problems. Light up great day or night.

Looks good! I used night shades as well and love it. Glad to see you kept the reverse lights as well. It looks better that way!
I just noticed the reverse light when i was washing my jeep and was like, "should i do that as well?"

That tint looks like a perfect shade. Did you sand down the tail lights before applying VHT or did you spray right on top and then add clear spray after? I've seen tutorials doing it both ways but wasn't sure what the best way is.

I just cleaned them with lens cleaner and sprayed them with a coat. I didnt put any clear coat on them. Im loving them daily. i get people moving out of my lane when they see me. Maybe they think im a cop or something i dont know. Something about an all blacked out suv makes people move and slow down.

Moving traffic out of the way is worth it alone. I'm glad to hear you didn't sand them before like most people have done. It's not something I wanted to do really to the factory lights. I'm going to be doing this mod soon.
