I drive a 2010 jeep patriot sport 4x4 trail rated, the tire size is 215/65R17 so my options are limited as far as tires. I don't like the stock OEM tires that came with it and i'm looking for a good All Season or preferably all Terrain tire to replace the ones I have. Are there any recommendations for a good tire?

I do a lot of cross country driving between PA & GA so I would like something with good gas millage, smooth and not a lot of road noise. I encounter all weather conditions from rain to snow to ice, etc. I don't really do any significant off road but i would like the option if the opportunity arises.

I was looking at the Cooper CS3 or the Handcook.

All help is appreciated.

Let me tell you a secret. Most patriots that come from the factory come with Firestone Affinity tires. Most people would agree that these tires are terrible. However im gonna tell you a little secret. There are actually 2 different versions of the Affinitys that people dont know about. You cant read reviews about Affinitys anywhere because most people dont know there are 2 different versions so when you read reviews, you really dont know which Affinitys they are talking about since no one lists 2 different versions. The Affinitys that come from the Jeep factory are the Firestone Affinitys S4. If you go to a Firestone dealership the Affinitys are totally different and almost look identical to the Firestone Precision Touring tire that is very highly rated. Ive been running my Firestone dealership affinitys for a couple years now and they are excellent in all terrain except deep mud. Take a look below of the pics of the 2 different versions--

Thanks everyone & i do know there is a lot and i mean A LOT of threads on this subject. I was just wondering from everyone's experience. What is the best all around tire for my 2010 stock patriot with 215/65/17's.

Within the nearly countless threads on the subject you will indeed learn what owners here believe "is the best all around tire for" their Patriot based on their experiences, again, as already countless times retold. Once you read those threads, check the reviews of each of those tires at Discount Tire or TireRack. You will certainly gain enough information for you to make your own decision based on your specific needs and requirements. Good luck.

I vote hankook. lightweight (great for our pats), I have used them on 3 different rigs of mine and got great ride, life etc out of them, they are not super expensive, and have a great warranty.

Wrangler SR-A's? Those things are cheap, not that good quality, and BARELY give the FD2 it's trail rated badge. Cooper AT3's are much better, and BFG KO2's alot better than that, albeit much heavier.

My Wrangler SR-A's lasted barely 20k miles before they were absolutely trashed. I've put about 40k miles on my Falken Wildpeak AT/3W's and they still look like new.

Not trying to start anything, but I spent 2 months last summer working at a Goodyear tire plant down in Virginia. I saw first hand how seriously they take quality control there, and I have nothing positive to say. The nicest thing I will say is that I learned that I will never buy another Goodyear tire or recommend them to anyone. I currently work in a plant where they make Dunlop, Falken, and soon Cooper tires. This plant takes quality serious.
