Today was the first time this year on the beach, plenty of soft sand and this time I didn't even deflate my tires!

These tires do real well, I think I trust them too much.

There was alot of loose sand but the truck did well

I drive onto the beach, turn esp full off and 4wd on...I drove around a decent amount too

After I took the picture I went fishing, after I caught nothing I came back to the truck and thought, let me back up a litttle as theres alot of sand infront (I'll get some better umpppf going forward) I put it in reverse and no go backwards, I then put it in drive and gave it gas, I got out of there with no problem at all

Rock on!:pepper:

Looking to get my outer beach permit this weekend. Any tips still rocking stock tires as this is only my 2nd year with the truck. Will get some geolanders when I loose some more tread.

Esp off
4wd on

Does anyone use the shifter and put it in a higher gear or just leave it in drive ?

Any tips would be great.

where you from david?

make sure to turn esp full off not just esp partially off

4 wd on is right

deflate the tires a bit, you'll get better traction that way

ive gone on the beach before with my stockers, never without a lift tho, never without skidplates either

Long island, ny beach is really soft here. I'm a little worried but my cousin go's every weekend in his Hyundai sun and says he says just the entrance is a little rough but after that he has no problems. But if his Hyundai can do it the jeep pat can too lol

I've had mine out on the Outer Banks beaches many times. The stock tires will do fine. Drop pressure to around 15-20 PSI, turn ESP full off, 4WD lock, and go. Remember that keeping your momentum up will help get you through soft sand. Having said that, don't just mash the gas and try to go, or you will dig yourself in. Easy starts and even easier stops. Most of the time I stop without using the brakes. Helps avoid that bump of sand in front of the wheels. Take a tow strap, a camp shovel, some old door mats, and a short 2x12. the old door mats work good for putting down in front of your tires if you need a little extra grip, and the short 2x12 will support your jack if you need to jack it up to change a tire, or fill in a hole you dug.

I hope I run into you sometime soon on the beach, I would love to see what the rro lift looks like in person. I heard LIBAGS are going to be getting us 4x4 access onto west end at Jones beach and toebay by the end of this year/beggining of next year.

David,

Look to see when the next time you can get a beach permit. You missed the deadline of March 31st, now I think you have to wait until after labor day...

With the green key which I had already but is 20 bucks if you don't have one the off road permit was 93 dollars If remember correctly. And you can go at night as long as your actively fishing. From what I'm told you can set up a fire some chairs and just have a line in the water your good. Lol
