OK, guys we've made some progress on the Arizona Trail Run!

Attendee List:
FailWheelDrive
UA who
Carter1995
02delgado
azcruisin
Burly Rez Goat (If on Nov 3rd)

Looks like we're planning on spending a good part of a Saturday out having some fun.

We'll stop at a 1/2 way or turnaround point for a picnic type lunch. (I will bring food, let me know if you have special needs/requests).

We'll take group shots and video as the opportunities arise.

We still need to come to a decision on the location and date but have narrowed things down a little:

Potential Locations:
Seven Springs/Crown King
Table Mesa Rd.
Rim Country/Payson

Potential Satudays:
Oct 27th
Nov 3rd
Nov 10th

Notes:
I'll bring my winch/tow strap (just in case)
I'll bring the food

Outstanding items:
Trail guide - whomever is most familiar with the area we choose has to be our trail guide to plan the route stop points etc.
Radios - anybody have them?
Camera - anyone have a good one for the group shots/vids?

If anyone else has interest in attending it's not too late to join so please just post here or PM me.

That sounds pretty awesome. If it weren't more than a days drive I'd probably try to join

Sign me up.

Failwheel, add a list of those expressing interest. As the date/location gets nailed down, PM's can be sent out as reminders.

I'm assuming that it will be a Saturday, all day event.
Table Mesa is nice, but would make more sense later in the year when it's cooler (unless everyone will be swimming). Prescott area, or Rim country by Payson are good options for 4-5 weeks from now.

Cool, I updated it.

I like the idea of a location between Phoenix & Upstate as it would make for a better halfway point (as some people may be turned off on traveling too far) but I hear ya on the heat. You're right though we could always shoot for late Sept/early Oct.

The north side of Lake Pleasant is pretty awesome but would be a PITA for you northern guys to access... unless we all met up somewhere north of the lake and worked our way down.

Are there any lakes farther up north that would be good?

I don't really know the Payson area but am open to pretty much anything including drivinng up the night before & grabbin a hotel.

Jerome is a pretty cool area too. I've only been there once though and have no idea on if there are any good trails (I bet there are). The town is pretty fun.

I bought my rock sliders off a guy in downtown Phoenix that has an FDII. He might be interested in going.

I'm in! Ive been a good ways down table mesa road and that was good I've hear that it joins up with 7 springs road I would love to travel to whole thing. I've hunting along seven springs and it is also a great road. I don't want to do anything to crazy because I'm only 2wd but I'm not afraid to get some mud on the tires.

I'm up for anything seven springs is pretty cool and it's not to far. What about crown king?

#19 ·
^ Ditto...I need you to be out here in NorWest Texas FWD lol

Ive been up to crown king about a year ago no problem from the bumble bee/I-17 side. And I've only been like 5-10 miles past the recreation area down in 7 springs the only reason I was cut short was because the sun was about down

That sounds good Ive heard there are bypasses on the hard stuff

OK, guys I've updated the first post with the latest greatest.

UA who & Carter1995 let's nail down a date/location. (Burly Rez Goat - let us know if there is a particular Saturday that you can join us and we can try to work around your sched.)

At first I was partial to Table Mesa because I'm familiar with it and if we hit a dead end we can always just hit another trail.

Then I got to thinking I'd rather go to a place I haven't been before, but that means whomever knows the location the best will have to set route & lead the pack.

I've thrown some dates out there as well (Oct 27th, Nov 3rd, Nov 10th). Any of these work/not work for you guys?

I was thinking those little handheld Radios would be really nice to have so we could communicate on the trail - anybody have them?

I have a point and shoot & my cell phone is decent but does anyone have a good camera so that the group shot comes out good?
