Hi,

There is a loud clunking/whining noise coming from the rear passenager side tire area. It happens mostly when I accelerate the car, and randomly while driving and turning. It is not consistent at all, and is pretty loud. I tried to search through the old posts, but was having a hard time finding a solution. Does anyone have any thoughts on what would be causing it? It is only coming from one tire.

Maybe a wheel bearing. What year is your Patriot?

2008, 4x4. only has 38K miles on it, local/hwy miles, never been offroading. It's my mom's and she baby's it, doesn't drive hard on it. we rotated the tires and changed the back pads/rotors, and thats when it started. we have taken everything off four times to check and clean everything really well. It stops for a few miles after that, then starts back up again.

It seems to be happening mostly on left turns, when there is a load on the tire... not all the time like I previously stated.
