Another AZ Trail Run? How about Crown King?

Hey everybody!

I've been wanting to run the Crown King trail since I moved to AZ and I think it's about time I got around to it.

I think they rate the Crown King run at like a 3, but my understanding is that there are bypasses on most/all of the obstacles. Needless to say I plan on tackling all of the obstacles, but I think a FDII Pat could make the trail.

I'm thinking about sometime during the weekend of March 8th/9th or the following weekend of the 15th/16th.

The only thing keepin me from nailing down an exact date is that I mashed my steering stabilizer (and possibly tie rod haven't measured yet). I'm ordering the new parts today but am not sure when they'll show up yet.

Let me know if you're interested!;)

Thanks Dixie, maybe someday we'll get you out here to the desert! :)

In case you guys missed it here's a video from my last wheeling adventure:

I'm sure the Crown King run will be even more fun!

If anyone wants to try their hand at one of the "easier" Table Mesa trails like Raw Deal or Upper Terminator I might be up for that too in the mean time.

For sure, I would prefer if you had a tow point (do you have a tow hitch or anything like that?) but anybody is always welcome.

My patriot is still in the shop, and I sold my alero, so I'm driving a minivan around until my saab gets here... HOPEFULLY the jeep gets released tomorrow, but they couldn't make any promises.

once I actually have it in my possession I will be able to set a date I can go.

I wish I could go but I don't think my jeep will make it

If you guys can plan on anything in May, I will be there :) I miss wheeling out in Az

The new parts haven't come in yet so I replaced my damaged aftermarket steering stabilizer with my stock one for the time being so the Chief is a runner.

What about next weekend (15th or 16th)?

Carter you could make it. :smiley_thumbs_up: (if not I will drag you through :D )

Vist my ex-wife (and other friends) in Chandler occasionally. Might be interested in doing some trail riding. (Do have 2 tow hooks in front of and tow shackle for the back of my FD1) :D Used to go to Jeep Camp with my Cherokee when I lived in Denver, found it would go a lot of places I had no desire to go, but a pleasant not overly challenging ride would be nice with a copacetic group. (if that makes any sense. LOL)

My parent just had a house built in Goodyear AZ (We're from Canada).

I was just down in Phoenix a few weeks ago, unfortunately I flew down and didn't have my Compass with me. When I go to visit again i'll be taking my jeep down and looking for trouble!

Would you want to go Sunday? I'm dying to try it out!

Looks gnarly Carter!!!

Not sure if I can go Sunday. My best friend from NY is coming into town for a week tomorrow night. I'm taking the week off, but we're probably rolling out to LA for the weekend and might not be back until later on Sunday.

On the flip side we could probably swing a weekday since I'll be off work.

He's a 4wheeler from way back in the day (used to have a lifted samurai) but I'm not sure if he's going to want to do a full day wheeling trip... then again he may really want to.

I should know more on Wednesday.
