It seems as tho there arent very many after market things for the patriot yet?

I was looking into getting a push bumper (brush gaurd), and no one seems to make one specificaly for the patriot yet, does anyone know where i can find one?

also looking at the Black out tail light covers and i cant seem to find that anywhere either?

here's a thread about blacked-out tail lights although it appears to be more of a do-it-yourself project. I think the first link discusses a film and the second a spray/paint:

And here's a thread (with pictures) about a brush guard made by a custom auto shop from Mexico. Based on what others said in the thread, it seems like a pretty reliable business:

It would be nice to find a small brush guard to mount a winch. Oh well, maybe time will bring more products to market.

i see a lot of patriot on frame straitening machines in the future. This is a car chasis (meaning unibody construction) the unibody in the front is not made to handle added weight. you would have to reinforce the entire front end all the way back to the passenger compartment for this to be used for anything other than looks. otherwise the smallest bump into something, or strong tug from a winch, and your unibody frame will bend. I would advise everyone to be carefull treating the patriot as more than and mildly offroad capable car.

I personally wouldn't mount a winch on the front but I see no harm in a brush guard.
the original poster asked for a "push bumper". Big difference if he's planning on pushing another stuck 4X4 out of the mud, or if he's planning on pushing a branch out of the way (which you don't really need a 60 lb bumper to do IMO).

not that I'm disagreeing with you though.

The cherokee has a better suspension for off road use, not to mention transfer case. I have said before that the Patriot is a front wheel drive car with rear wheel assist. They really cant handle big enough tires to make them truly capable in an off road setting. They may take you down some mild trails, but nothing more than you likely would get a VW bug through.
