hey guys I'm looking to instal a hitch also but only problem is, its a lease. Now i was told they sell some kind of adapter to add onto the location for the hitch so there will be no type of cutting into the bottom of the bumper, and was just curious as to if this was true? IF so can anybody help me and point me into the right direction here?
I have not heard this but it may depend on the model. The older patriots(pre-2010) don't require any cutting. The new ones have a low-hanging bumper but it should be 2 separate parts so maybe the bottom half(black plastic) comes off? Hopefully someone else can confirm.

Any one else ? Wondering if the one that hooks up just in the rear overloads anything .
Mine hasn't overloaded anything, I'm pretty sure the circuit is sized for the trailer lights. That being said I have the '07 and the signal lights and brakes are on separate plugs because I have the amber turn signals. The relays on the OEM harness are pretty loud, that's the only thing I noticed after I hooked it up. They seem to have quieted down after being used a bit but I may just be getting used to the noise.

You can hear the relays in them clicking when you signal. It isn't noticeable with some music on but I had the stereo off when I pulled it out of the shop after I put them in and I thought there was something wrong at first. They are about half as loud now that I've had it on for a couple months but I can still hear it if I listen for it. I thought maybe I had a bad harness but I've talked to a couple people that have it and they said they can hear it too.
