70th Anniversary Edition Patriot

After much agonizing, I have decided to trade in my 2009 FDI. I decided long ago that the only vehicle I want is another Jeep, but which one? I really love the Wrangler, but it's just too small to fit all my camping and fishing equipment. The Wrangler Unlimited is too expensive, unless I order it stripped, and I sort of enjoy a LITTLE luxury. The Grand Cherokee is great, but waaay too expensive. The Compass is a realistic option, espically with the FDII option now available. My roomate has 2010 2wd. I prefer the stying of the Patriot. So, it's another Patriot. While looking through dealer stock in my area I discovered there isn't a SINGLE FDII available. After driving the FDI for 2 years I decided to give up the Autostick, which I really like, for the off-road options available on the FDII. So, mouse in hand, I journeyed off to Jeep.com on the web. Much to my surprise, I find they are now offering a "70th Anniversary Edition" on the Patriot! I would have thought I would learn about this on this forum first, being the premier website in the world for all things Patriot. This Pat has some special stitching on the seats, a badge or 2, some sort of logo on the radio, and an "overlay" in green for the dash. I have no idea what that is. Anybody have a clue? But the main thing is, it's available in a "Bronze Star" color, which isn't available with any other package. So, since if I wanted to blend in, I'd take the bus, I think I'm sold. The old girl is a little pricey, $27k for an FDII, lavishly equipped, but the sales rep says he can have it in 30 days and I would have the only one in the area.
I think I will be ordering it before the end of the week.

They should sell it in olive drab with steel disc wheels, a Jerry can, and an entrenching tool. Judging by the fog light placement, not an export model.

I found those posts AFTER I wrote mine. I guess I wasnt paying attention when they were written. Some updates. Im shopping for a new dealer. I started out behind the curve on this deal right from go. I made the mistake of telling the sales rep what I owed and what I paid, and so of course he only offered me a pay-off on my loan. NADA and Kelly both list my FDI at $3500 more on trade than he offered. He never did get around to offering to order me the 70th anniv. FDII. He was more interested in trying to sell me an FDI off the lot. There were only 3 FDII's in a 250 mile radius of KC, and only one was a color I was interested in. So, back to square one. The thing that will make or break the deal for me is trade in value. I understand that I won't likely get a deal if they have to order as opposed to buying off the lot, but if I'm going to take a beating on my 09, Ill keep it. I love this Jeep. BTW, they had NO used Pats on the lot. Only a handful of used 4x4s in the whole metro area. Any dealers out there listening? This is NOT the way to build customer loyalty.

You know, if they really want to celebrate the anniversary, and do something for loyal customers, they should price the anniversary edition at a good price point, with options that make it unique for the same as other Patriots, not more, IMHO. That way a lot of them would get out there to show off, and bring other folks to the fold.

I actually saw that bronze Patriot from a distance during the night when I was doing my groceries with the wife. At first, I thought it was some new Grand Cherokee or something. When I got closer and realized that it was a Patriot, the first thing that came through my head is 'man, that looks much better than my silver.' It is one hell of a beautiful model and I would EASILY trade in for that one if I wasn't already in love with my car.

Still couldn't get that 1st dealer to budge on the trade-in. The sales rep disregards the KBB and NADA avg trade-in value for our area. He tells me in email that SURELY I cant expect to get $16k for my jeep, considering what I paid. Well, SURELY I can. I pointed out that his company got EVERY dollar of the sticker price, and that if my Jeep is going to take a 44% depreciation hit in 18 months, with mileage well below average, then I WON'T be buying any more new Jeeps. I told him that just because I used C4C to buy my Pat, that doesnt decrease it's trade-in value. I'm working with another dealer now. Still working out the details. Ill know more in a day or two.

awsome color combo. with regards to the price, its worth every penny, when I ordered my pat last year, I ticked every option box available at the time, the jeep is so comfortable and I use all the options I have all the time! its great having a fully optioned ride for less than 35k canadian!

I bought our 70th Bronze FDII a month ago. Only FDII in Bronze within 200 miles of Metro Detroit area. Didn't have the Security and Convenience group, otherwise it had everything we wanted. We are adding the remote start and Uconnect, so we have some of the package we wanted. Pic in the newbie section, here is our favorite:

I STILL love that color...I wanted one of those BAD! I ended up with a Stone White model. Now if you can keep all those crazies on 16 mile from running into it....
