My hazards and heated seat line of buttons no longer work, they stopped working randomly on my 2014 Jeep Patriot, not under warranty, and they are telling me it was the subwoofers that blew the hazards light, even though no power or cords connect to the buttons or module, the only wires are connected by speaker wires to the speakers, so can the speaker wire some how go through the car and destroy the entire module?

They say it's 700 dollars to fix the hazards light in the Jeep 2014 Patriot, what's the play for me?

Is it illegal to not have operating hazards? Keep in mind my turn signals work fine.

Or what can I do to get it working again for cheaper than 700, any part or something easy fix would be awesome. Just for the hazards I don't care about my heated seats.

I think--hell, I know--you need a second opinion! Does the radio and all the speakers still work? Any of it? As an electrical engineering professional, I hate to think that the TPIM device is so sensitive that it will partially fail at something so simple/minor. Remember, circuits are fused to protect the wiring, not the appliance, in such that if the appliance internally shorts, the fuse will blow when the wire' max. current rating is exceeded.

If you can find a local independent car stereo place and have them take a look--that could help eliminate some things. Also, now that the Patriot is a "legacy" product--meaning no longer produced--there should be "performance" shops that have the skills and knowledge to trouble shoot this problem. Better to incur and hour's worth of their time vs. $700 at the dealer.

Any one else care to chime in? And....good luck!!
