My 2013 Patriot Latitude has 225 55/17 97h tires on it, before I buy new tires does this size actually fit properly? They all have similar wear except the left front has excessive wear on the interior edge, like I need an alignment. I don't see any signs of rubbing but the tires are old.

When I search for this size I'm told they don't match my vehicle. I do see the 225 55/19 as an option but I don't want new wheels. Could someone help me clear this up??

Hi Matt, welcome to the group.

There are 2 factory sizes that could have come on your Patriot, 215/60-17 or 215/65-17, depending on options. 225/55-17 will fit OK, but will throw off your speedometer a little bit. They shouldn't cause any other issues. 19 inch wheels were never an option on a Patriot.

Also FYI, there is a sticker on the driver side door jamb that will show the size tires that came on your Patriot from the factory.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't know how quickly I would get an answer. This is a new to me preowned rig, that's why I have questions. The rims on it look like Wrangler rims, they are not the dwerpy looking wheels the Patriot came with. I realize the VIN tag has the 215 65 r17 but some tire sales sites give the 225 alternate. But the truck has the 225/55/r17 on it. I do think my speedometer is off. People complain I don't go fast enough. I guess a tire shop would have the device to reset the speedometer.

My 2011 latitude came with 215 65 17 . I went up to a 225 65 17 with no issues. I went with the falken wild peak it has a rough tread and I don’t even need to put it in 4wd even with slick roads. I think they look good on the patriot also . That’s just my recommendation if your looking for a rougher tread and that will last
