If you end up getting it, you'll be the first one with Oscar Mike edition. The price of $20,XXX is a steal for a vehicle that has MSRP of $27,305. I say if you like it, don't even think twice.

I personally like the Army star on the hood but not so much on the quarter panels and I love those graphite colored rims.

Checked Kelley Blue Book and the price after rebates would be $23,900. Gotta wonder why this one you're looking at is so cheap You probably won't be able to get any special financing rates through the dealer taking the rebates. I'm sure they have a $500 military cash allowance factored into the price. Usually when a deal is too good to be true it probably is. I hope for your sake the deal goes through; we LOVE our 2013 Patriot and the one you're looking at is sweeeet!!!

For one, we gotta figure out money =)

We were originally looking at getting a truck... then my wife decided she might want an SUV so we went and looked at some and test drove a Patriot. She really liked it, especially the better MPG than our Cherokee.

Showed her the one I linked and she fell in love with it. Just trying to figure out if we wanna get a FWD, 4x4 more basic version or just go all out and get this one that's fully loaded.

We have the money to pretty much buy a FWD or a lower end 4x4 outright. Just trying to figure out if we want to finance the other 5-8k and get fully loaded.

I go to school full-time, work P/T... her job doesn't pay as much, but we do get to live for free so it's a matter of what are our "needs","wants" and what we can do financially.

There's a closer dealer that has an Oscar Mike edition, but no FDII or Nav, but for the same price. They do have a fully loaded black on black one with leather interior/nav screen but it didn't have the price nor can we find it online. Had an MSRP of $27,000ish so I'm assuming the sale price will be similar to the Oscar Mike since the MSRP is very similar.

 

Was your Libby 4x4? If so, and you were used to it, get the fdii, if you ever take it off road get the fdii, if you know 100% you will never take it off road, but have snow to deal with fdi, and it you don't have much snow, 2wd...

 

That's a great price. I'm not a fan of white vehicles, but there are those that like them. If you have the money to purchase a lower end 4x4 without all the bells and whistles without financing, that is the way I would go, but really it has to be your decision. And yes, some with newer Pats experienced leaks with sunroofs even as new as 2012s.

President's Day is the time when many go on sale. As a point of reference, I purchased mine in February 2012 and paid $18,500. I have no power locks or windows though. Some can't live without them. It's a pain sometimes, but something I have adjusted to.

Buy the vehicle you can afford. I would suggest 4x4 if you live in any area that gets snow. But again, that's just my opinion.

 

That price is a steal dude. I just bought a 2013 Sport for 19K after putting down 1K. My model has the 17 inch rims, blue tooth, power windows, locks, 2.4L, 4wd etc.

IAW this link, you don't need FDII or FDI, a Sport 2.0L FWD with a set of winter tires should be just fine for a college family...

 

We're in Boise, but similar weather to Caldwell.

We'd be using it as a weekend warrior as well. Camping, forest service roads, mild trails etc. Nothing too crazy. I'll be getting a fullsize Montero for when we have a bigger family and when we don't wanna beat up the nicer rig.

 

get the FDII for sure. you won't regret it.

 

If it has fd1 it'll just have 4wd but fd2 has the low offroad setting on shifter right? Looking at a fd1 unless they have more incentives for Presidents' Day. The fd1 we are looking at could be paid off in a couple months with tax return whereas the fully loaded will be more... Decisions... We are getting a Montero for serious offroading so that's playing a part in our decision

 

yeah, you get a lot with the FDII. the low range, break lock differential, and hill decent are all things that cannot be added later. the oil cooler, the skid plates, tow hooks, full sized spare, these can all be added later, but at a cost.

 

My FDI has the All Weather Capability and Tow Prep groups. It has the oil cooler, tow hooks and full size spare. I have used the spare and tow hooks. It also has a block heater.

 

A really good price, buy it, buy it! I would s h i t!

 

Biting the bullet on a different Oscar Mike Patriot... Fd1 without the touch screen stereo. Ill post pics later. The fully loaded fd2 would be nice but more money than we are wanting to spend.

We asked about pricing and didn't jive with our needs. Ill have a Montero for any serious off-road needs. Definitely like the 2.4 more than the 2.0. And averaging 23mpg in town during the test drive was nice... Hopefully it'll stay that way

 

Congrats. Get a Fuelly account and track your MPG/fuel costs from the get go.

 

or just find a year old FD2 latitude pat like I did for only $16k. It even still smells new.

The fuelly account is a great idea unless you use it with an android phone in which it doesnt work so well.

 

Went with the 13'.... found a couple non FDII with miles on em', but my wife would rather go brand new for a few thousand more $$.

Probably be the only brand new car we buy in our lifetime unless we win the lottery =-)
