2011 Jeep Compass prices start at $19,295

The 2011 Jeep Compass will start rolling into your local dealership later next month with prices starting at $19,295 – and yes, that is a significant jump from the starting price tag of $15,365 for the 2010 model year.

The 2011 Jeep Compass is available in three trim-levels including Compass, Latitude and Limited. The Compass Latitude and Compass Limited model start at $21,595 and $24,295 respectively, which is not that much of a jump over the 2011 model years (2010 Latitude started at $21,850, 2010 Limited started at $23,385).

Buyers can opt for continuously variable automatic transmission for $1,100, four-wheel-drive for $1,700, an upgraded audio system for $1,295, a navigation system for $685, a media center package for $640 (on base and Compass Latitude model, $290 for Compass Limited model) and Trail Rated Package for $500.

The 2011 Jeep Compass comes standard with a 2.0L World Engine making 158-hp and 141 lb-ft of torque. Mated to Chrysler’s new CVT2 transmission, the 2011 Compass with a 2.0L delivers a fuel-economy of 23/29 mpg (city/highway). Also available is a 2.4L World Engine that makes 172-hp and 165 lb-ft of torque (on the Compass Limited model). When mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and front-wheel-drive configuration, the 2.4L helps the 2011 Compass deliver 23/29 mpg.

Jeep Compass gets big price bump for 2011

Redesigned Jeep Compass gets big price bump for 2011
The 2011 Jeep Compass goes on sale next month with a starting price of $19,295, plus $700 destination fee.

30 Dec 2010

The 2011 Jeep Compass goes on sale next month with a starting price of $19,295, plus $700 destination fee, according to Chrysler.

That's a significant bump from the $15,365 sticker price for the 2010 Compass, but we sort of expected this because the 2011 model features a lot more standard equipment. It includes features like air conditioning, power windows and locks, heated power side mirrors, keyless entry, fog lamps, cruise control and tinted glass.

The Compass is available in three trim levels for 2011: base, Latitude and Limited. The Limited trim starts at $24,295 and comes with features such as automatic climate control and leather seats.

The front end of the 2011 Compass has been completely redesigned to look more upscale, like the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee:

There are standard LED taillamps, new wheel designs and a "Trail Rated" drivetrain, like what's in the 2011 Jeep Patriot.

Base and Latitude trims come standard with a 158-horsepower, 2-liter, four-cylinder engine rated at 23/29 miles per gallon city/highway with a five-speed manual transmission. On the Limited, there's a 172-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder that also gets 23/29 mpg.

All models come with antilock brakes, electronic stability control and tire pressure warning. Side curtain airbags are standard, but side front thorax airbags remain a $250 standalone option.

I think the new compass goes on sale in UK in the Summer. The starting price here will be £19.000 ( pounds ) not $19.000 ( dollars )

I'd like to have a look at the back end before forming an opinion... (yes on both subjects) but mainly see a face lift for the Compass, but did it get any rear end work to make it look more like a mini-Cherokee?

I don´t know about the price, maybe is a little bit higher... but sergio marchionne is a relly good good CEO!!!

That is awfully pricey for the Compass..... I mean how is $20k "entry level?" My Patriot is as basic as basic could be, Sport package with no options. I went with this because I really wanted a Jeep but at the time could hardly afford a new car. My sticker price was $16,058..... now I know the Patriot and Compass aren't identically priced, but how does Jeep justify having it's "entry level" vehicles jump 4k in price?
