So I need to ask a rather important question trying to get some opinions, I have a 2010 Jeep Patriot FWD with 162,000 miles on it, I recently replaced the CVT due to failure, the transmission I got only has about 52,000 miles out it, I have a trip planned from West Virginia down to Hilton head South Carolina, and I have been pretty nervous as far as having transmission failure, I know the cvt transmission is junk it’s self, I just would like to hear about anybody else’s long journey in a CVT Patriot. I’m leaving Monday. So any responses would be appreciated

Only time my CVT failed me is when I failed it first, changing the fluid too late. I've heard the JATCO CVT isn't the best example of them, but most of my experiences with it have been pretty good. Mine has gone from its home in Michigan to Arizona, then through central Texas and back to Michigan with no issues. And Lord willing, it'll do just fine on the trip back home from South Dakota in a couple days. Helping a friend move out there from Ohio this week, and my Patriot is on a Uhaul auto hauling trailer

I just got back from a 1,200 trip last weekend with my 2008 with a little under 200,000 miles on it. I was a little nervous since it's getting up there in years and we also had 4 adults, plus a roof rack, and hitch carrier but I didn't have any problems. We bought it in 2007 and it will be up for its 15 year inspection next year.

That makes me feel a little better, it is just a little nerve racking, I have read so many complaints about the early transmission failure, and I have replaced the transmission already, I am just a little nervous thinking about it. I’m just hoping it’s all good.thanks for your response
