Man I miss having a turbo, I would have a diesel here in the US in a heart beat. Imagine a FDII patriot with the torque of the diesel engine, and 30+mpg... It would be amazing.

agree with harold 100%, a little research and you can replace the ball joints inexpensively with a good aftermarket part. Ball joins on a lot of chryslers are known to be a weak area, also on fords, chevys, toyotas, hondas, etc. budget cars are built to a... oh that's right, budget!

Turbo issues suck, but a flat out replacement for $600 bucks is NOTHING last time I had to replace a turbo, cost me $1600 US! and that was me doing the work.

your best bet is to find an independent mechanic you trust. They have access to tools/manuals/part suppliers/etc. that the normal person doesn't have access to.

I do a lot of work myself, but if I struggle with something and talk to my mechanic about it, I'll often buy my parts through him, that way he makes a little, and I pay about what i would buying at any other local parts shop. (i don't work on my jeep, its still under warranty, and has been trouble free, my olds alero on the other hand...)
